Crossbow History

From about the year 3500 B.C., various cultures have used some sort of bow and arrow weaponry. Many North American Indian Tribes know, and have known alot about crossbows. This knowledge was inherited from their ancestors.

Crossbows as Weapons

Crossbows were used in earlier battles. A group of men were able to drive the enemy back farther and farther. The enemies arrow from a regular bow didn't travel as far as the arrow of a crossbow, and wasn't as powerful as the crossbow. They were left with no choice but to retreat.

Modern Crossbows

Modern crossbows will not be used in war time situations anymore. They are used today mainly for hunting, or for target practice. Crossbows are deadly weapons and should be treated with respect and caution.
